The Anti-Puncture tape gives bike riders with inner tubes an added advantage over those with “tubeless tires”. Adding “slime” to the inner tube that has a tire with Anti-Puncture tape gives the bikers with inner tube even more advantage than those with “tubeless tires + sealant”.
99.9% of punctures in Muscat and most areas in Oman are caused by dried thorns. Most often the punctures happen when a rider rides close to a residential area wall. Basically, if some green bush grew there, then the thorns are almost guaranteed. These thorns make no distinctions whether you have heavy-duty MAXXIS, Continental, or Schwalbe tires, or whether you have a tubeless tire or you have slime in your tires. They just get in!
Using tubeless tires with sealant or inner tubed tires with slime helps because the punctures are sealed most of the time without your knowledge!
The liner tape gives you the extra edge, it reduces and in most cases prevents punctures in the first place. Coupled with slime, it offers the best peace of mind for bikers with inner tube bikes.

NOTE & DISCLAIMER:
The Anti-Puncture tape only protects tubes by reducing actual punctures from outer sources.
It does not protect against blowups caused by overinflation or too much weight (more than what is specified by tire manufacturers).
It does not protect against “snake bite”, inner tire tear caused by “under-inflation”, or by having air less than recommended for the rider weight.
It does not prevent tire bursts normally caused by the tube being pinched by the tire. This happens at the time of inflation after a new tube install or when inflating after not having used the bike for a very long period.
It cannot completely prevent long objects or thin wires (from road debris) from penetrating the tire and ultimately the tape.
